A welcome doodle for Cambridge Children's Network

From natural light, open spaces and sensory rooms to a helter skelter, a juice bar and guinea pigs! These were just a few of the many ideas that the imaginative members of Cambridge Children’s Network came up with at our recent Welcome sessions.

Since the Network launched before Christmas, there has been an overwhelming response with hundreds of children, young people, families and carers signing up to help develop the new children’s hospital for the east of England. Seeing all those enthusiastic faces on our screens for the first time was just brilliant!

As well as Q&A sessions with our clinical leads, Dr Rob Heuschkel from CUH and Dr Cathy Walsh from CPFT, we also ran a LIVE doodle session called SenseScapes. This gave Network members a chance to think about what they want their hospital to be like, based on the five senses – see, hear, smell, taste and feel. The chatbox was buzzing with ideas which will now be fed back to our design team.

Here are the rather beautiful finished results!
